John Bloxham RIP

The Association has just heard the sad news of the passing earlier today of a man well known to the Sky Blue family, John Bloxham. John will be well known to many of the Association’s members having worked for the Sky Blue Academy for several years being involved in the education and housing side of things. John was involved in ensuring future first teamers completed their studies and were housed either at Ryton or in lodgings. He was also involved helping the team on a matchday. He also managed Coventry Sporting FC.

In 2014 CCFC’s current Corporate Sales Manager Tynan Scope signed up (along with many other riders including former England and AC Milan striker Luther Blissett)  to take part in a 150 mile charity cycle ride from London to Amsterdam to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK in the knowledge that his former colleague John had battled the disease.

John was a lifelong City supporter who also attended a large number of Sky Blues’ away matches over the years used to be regular on the coaches which left Coventry to see the Sky Blues perform around the country. CCFPA Vice Chairman Billy Bell said, “He was also a great friend to the Association and sometimes supplied items for our auctions and raffles. Many FP’s will have fond memories of a very nice man. He will be greatly missed.”

CCFPA sends its sincere condolences to John’s family and friends.
