From Brian Joicey following his visit as our special guest at Birmingham game (10/03/2012) (email to Events Coordinator Bob Eales)

Hi Bob,
Firstly, I must tell you that the hospitality you showed me,my wife and my friends last Saturday was fantastic. From the minute you met us to the minute we left everybody had a great time (and the match was good as well ). It was truly a day to remember! I told you I was only there for two years but I forgot it was two years that was an important period in the club’s history and I was lucky enough to be there. My biggest fear, when I was introduced, was [people would say], ‘Brian, who’?

Sorry I can’t make it to Legends Day due to a prior commitment.  I will certainly come back to see everybody again as it was a wonderful experience. Could you say thank you to Bob, Billy, Harry Roberts and to everyone I met and most all to you for being a wonderful host and the best of luck in the future with your CCFPA!  Once again thank you,
Brian

From Dietmar Bruck following Legends Day 2011 (to Membership Sec Mike Young)

I felt that I had to express my feelings about the Legends Day. It was an unbelievable and exciting day, so many legends getting together once again, so many happy memories, so much banter between us all, the jokes and feelings rolled in one. The way we were looked after, wined and dined, wonderful response from the loyal fans, felt so proud to have been part of Coventry City FC for all these years.

All thanks to the CCFPA Committee. you have been so wonderful, the hard work you have put in during this season again. Looking after us, bringing us together and always so many players coming back again and again, all down to all you guys. You even managed to arrange for us to the Jaguar Day, so many vintage cars looking fantastic, so it was appropriate that so many vintage players were were on show as well.
I am taking this opportunity to say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you and I know that comes from not just me, but all the past players, you have been a credit to CCFC.  I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.”

From Alan Turner following JH Tribute Day Reunion July 2010

“I had to write to you to thank you for a great weekend. The way you guys looked after us was nothing other than first class. To see some of my old team mates for the first time in 40 years was a joy……. I hope to see you all again very soon”

From Charlie Timmins’ family following his funeral in April 2010

“Thank you for all of your support over the past couple of weeks. The CCFPA is a credit to the club and your kind words and thoughts will stay with my family forever.

Joe Elliot talking about Legends Day March 2010

“What a fantastic day that everybody enjoyed to the full. You [Bob Eales] and Billy and your committee are amazing and run everything so well … and I think we have come on leaps and bounds this season … On a personal note I am so blown over by your presentation with the George Hudson shirt, I still cannot believe it, I think you know what it means to me.”

Alan Green emailing Mike Young about Legends Day 2010

“Thank you for your email in reference to last week’s Legends Day.. unfortunately I was unable to be at the game .  I have been a season ticket holder for 45 years but have had to miss the last 3 games at home due to ill health. I am hoping to make tomorrows game (Derby) …… Rest assured once I am on my feet again I will fulfill any invites to FPA functions….once again thank you and all involved for an opportunity to meet and contact those former players who have given fans like me the pleasure of being a Sky Blue fan PUSB”

Email to Mike Young from Sky Blues Sixties forward John Key about the Membership Magazine ‘Legend’ June 2019

Good morning, as a former player and member of the 1966/7 team that won the league and achieved promotion to the top division, I would like to thank you for regularly sending me ‘the Legend’ magazine. It brings back great memories of a special era in my football career. The players at that time made my wife and I very welcome when we arrived from London. It was a pleasure to play with so many terrific team mates . Please give my regards to Mick Kearns, Dietmar Bruck, Ronnie Farmer, Bobby Gould and any other of former players from that team if you see them. Best wishes to everyone at the club, Johnny Key.
