Wycombe announce ‘skipper’ Jack

Our member since May 2019, always a good friend to the Association, popular attacking full back Jack Grimmer has made further progress at current club Wycombe Wanderers cementing his status with the Chairboys. He has just been appointed the League One club’s captain for the upcoming 2024-25 season! Congrats Jack!

Jack had signed up for CCFPA at CCFC’s end of season Awards Ceremony at the Ricoh in the knowledge he would be leaving the club for Wycombe at the end of that season. He is currently a veteran of 174 games over five seasons for the Buckinghamshire side having notched four goals!

Jack, who got to know CCFPA committee members and married couple Sarah and Richard Morris very well during his time at the club was very happy to sign for our Membership Secretary at the club’s Awards Evening (right).

Of course, Jack was also an award recipient being presented with the ‘Community Player of the Season’ Award (below left).

The 25 year old Scotsman started out at Aberdeen in 2009 and then had spells at Fulham (2012) from whom the Sky Blues signed him in July 2017. In between Jack was sent out on loan to Port Vale (Jan- Apr.2014) and Shrewsbury (three spells 2014; 2016 & 2017).

Between 2009-14 Jack won caps for his country from U15 to U21 level.

By the time Jack left the Sky Blues as a free agent he had clocked up 66 appearances in the Sky Blue shirt netting three goals. Two were particularly memorable – one that knocked Stoke City out of the F.A.Cup at the Ricoh in January 2018 and the other in the League Two Playoff Final at Wembley against Exeter City at the end of May 2018 (below).

Good luck with your new club responsibility Jack, we are sure you will ace it! We look forward to seeing you back at a CCFPA event in the upcoming season (whenever your playing commitments allow) as we know you will always retain a soft spot for the Sky Blue family.

Thanks to CCFPA’s Mike Young for sourcing the images.
