Legends Day 2024 -4: FP’s H-T Centre Circle Walk-Pt.2 The 70s & 80s Legends

Less than two hours ago we started our coverage of our the 36 FPs who we entertained at last Saturday’s Legends Day 2024 celebrations going pitch-side to enter the playing area at half-time after watching the first 45 minutes of the game from their seats close-by. As per usual CCFPA’s Billy Bell announced each player as they walked onto the CBS hallowed turf in playing decade order to a warm welcome from fans of both sides and marched towards the centre-circle amidst lots of applause.

Following on from the walk-on proceedings with photos 1950s, 60s and early 70s Former Players we continue with the rest of the 1970’s ‘Stars of the Past’ as they made their way to the centre-circle for the traditional half-time ‘team photo’ when our FP guests and the 29,000 crowd acclaimed each other!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Barry was with us at our recent Wembley semi-final last month, our deadly ex striker ‘Wally’ was also doubling as our match-day ‘special’ on Saturday and ‘Harry’ was alos heavily involved in the day as the club’s long-term match-day host. Many photos of all our FPs can be found in previous and subsequent posts about LD24.  We also cover below our heroes of the 1980s which, of course, include three members of the close knit group of never to be forgotten ‘Boys of 87’ who brought the F.A.Cup back to Coventry for the first ever time, all true club Legends, Association committee member ‘Benno’, record ‘keeper ‘Oggy’ and mercurial midfielder ‘Gynny’!
