CCFPA’s own LD24 programme for our FPs

Previously we have shown you lots of images in past days of the Legends Day 2024 celebrations last Saturday at the CBS Arena prior to the match between the Sky Blues and Queens Park Rangers. This involved views of our 36 Former Players arriving at the CBS Atrium to be registered and be signed in and lots of events going on in the Arena’s top floor Premier Lounge where a goodly number of fans were able to ‘Brunch with the Legends’.

Today we get down to the moments all Sky Blue fans in the 29,000 are eager to see when our ‘stars of the past’ go pitch-side and enter the playing area at half-time after watching the first 45 minutes of the game from their seats close-by. As per usual CCFPA’s Billy Bell announced each player as they walked onto the CBS hallowed turf in playing decade order to a warm welcome from fans of both sides and marched towards the centre-circle amidst applause.

Kenny Sansom (with Andy Sinton & Ian Muir) leads the way

In respect to our opponents Q.P.R. our 90s Sky Blue member England international member Kenny Sansom, a player for both sides, led the way escorted by ex Hoops players Andy Sinton and ‘Cov.Kid’ Ian Muir

There is a full video of the long walk to the centre-circle (thanks to CCFPA’s Richard Morris) on our Facebook page – just click on that button to the right of this post to see it. Only CCFC’s 1960s physio Norman Pilgrim of our 36 attending guests did not go onto the pitch for this stage.

Here we begin the walk-on proceedings with photos of the players from the 1950s and 1960s when CCFC transitioned from ‘the Bantams’ to Jimmy Hill‘s ‘Sky Blues’ (plus three from the early 1970s)!
