The Sky Blue bedecked Premier Lounge awaits its guests

A young fan wonders what is about to unfold

What a great day we all had at last Saturday’s Legends Day 2024 at the Sky Blues last game of the season against Queens Park Rangers! Not far off forty CCFC Former Players (and their family representatives and guests) spanning nearly seven decades of Coventry football returned to join us for some more fun and games.

Wht will the score be?

Despite the 2-1 defeat suffered by Mark Robins’ men the day was extremely successful thanks to the hard work of staff members of CCFC and committee members and helpers from CCFPA. We have previously shared pictures of the arrival of many of our ‘stars of the past’ at the CBS Arena to sign in and also autograph a number of memorabilia at the Association reception desk. We have also covered some aspects of what our extra ‘special’ match-day guest for the day, our former deadly striker, Ian Wallace got up to during the day.

Guests enjoy their brunch

A packed Premier Lounge

Now our attention turns to the next stage of LD24 after our guests were conducted up to the top floor supporters’ lounge (with panoramic views of the pitch) for pre-lunchtime refreshments. A packed Premier Lounge allowed them to enjoy brunch in the company of a large and enthusiastic community of CCFC fans. CCFC Chairman Jim Brown and Life President Joe Elliott welcomed everyone to the event and kicked off pre-match activities including a number of interviews with some of our returning ‘stars of the past’. Club Chairman (and owner) Doug King also had something to say.

Our FPs, seated at tables throught the Premier Lounge renewed friendships, met fans for chats, autographs and selfies and enjoyed the pre-match atmosphere.  Here is the first set of general photos from that part of LD24 (see who you can spot) we will post more of other FPs in the Premier Lounge soon, so keep checking back!

Here we make a start from CCFC veteran Bill Tedds and his family….. check back for more soon!
