Jim Brown

CCFPA Chairman Jim Brown and CCFC’s official club historian is well known for his books on the history and playing record of Coventry City. As readers of this website will know Jim has, for many years, done a roughly weekly web-based Journal on all things Sky Blue that can be found here.

Now Jim and fellow long time Sky Blue aficionado Claudio Cardellino have kept up with the newer technologies and launched a podcast which can be found via Spotify and various social media outlets. The very first episode has come out in the last few days and you can listen to it by clicking on the link or image below:

In this edition Jim and Claudio naturally focus first on the wonderful recent F.A.Cup Semi-Final at Wembley between the Sky Blues and Manchester United. They reminisce about the Sky Blues’ fantastic comeback from being 3-0 down to the Red Devils, their VAR disallowed extra time ‘winner’ and the eventual loss on penalties. This leads them to a comprehensive discussion on CCFC’s iffy record on penalty shoot-outs throughout the decades.

Ellis Simms in the Sky Blue

Then they talk about Sky Blue striker Ellis Simms place in Sky Blue history already and then much more historical discussion of the place of two types of playing ‘achievement’ in Sky Blue history. First the pair look at the CCFC ‘own-goal owners’ in the history of Highfield Road and then the Ricoh/CBS Arena. Next the duo consider the more positive memories of the hat-trick heros of CCFC’s history! There many other miscellaneous musings as the go along including Sky Blue internationals.

It’s well worth a listen so why not do so!
