Members News: Micky Sees BlueBirds Make Sky Blues Blue!
Easter Monday yesterday saw Micky Gynn, our 1987 F.A.Cup winning hero and long-standing supporter of CCFC and CCFPA, made his ‘debut’ as our match-day ‘special guest’. Sadly, visitors Cardiff City made April Fools of Micky’s favourites despite the Sky Blues taking a first half lead through No 9 Ellis Simms (continuing his current hot scoring streak).
Mark Robins men dominated possession against the Bluebirds but failed to demonstrate their usual precision passing and positive momentum and were sucker-punched by a Liam Kitching own-goal brace, one in each half!
One of the key members of the ‘Boys of ‘87’ Micky was given a warm welcome by Sky Blue fans throughout his visit as he did some Q&As pre-match with club host Brian Roberts in the CBS main stand fans’ lounges, visited some executive boxes, and gave a half-time pitch-side interview reminiscing about his Sky Blue days.
You can see an excerpt of one of Micky’s Q&As with ‘Harry’ on our Facebook page (just click on the button on the right of this post).
Micky finished off down in the G-Casino bantering with CCFPA’s Billy Bell from on stage in Lady Gs (cheering up the somewhat disappointed CCFC fans).
He also met the Sky Blue ‘Mad Hatters’, the club’s colourful superfans down in Lady Gs!
You can watch the finale when Micky and Billy ‘coach’ the audience of CCFC fans to sing the Sky Blue song together by clicking on the link or image below:-

Thanks Micky- we hope you enjoyed your day with us (apart from the result). We are sure to see you back at the CBS Arena and at CCFPA events soon!
Thanks to CCFPA’s Richard Morris (and Steve Dorrington) for the photos and videos.
