We are very sad to record that our member, former Sky Blue Assistant Manager Ron Wylie passed away yesterday aged 86 ‘after a long illness’.

Glasgow born Ron, who was well known in Midlands footballing circles, had a long and substantial playing career with each of three clubs, starting out at Notts County in 1950 before featuring for both Aston Villa. (1958-64) and Birmingham City (1965-70). He hung up his boots aged 37 in 1970 having made well over 500 League appearances for his three Midland clubs in total.
