The Association is very pleased to announce that our special guest for next Saturday’s home game at the Ricoh with midland rivals Derby County on 10th September 2011 will be 1970’s star Alan Green.

Alan it will be remembered was a nippy forward who came to the Sky Blues as an apprentice in the late sixties earning an England Youth Cap.  Turning professional in 1971 he debuted in the first team the following year.  In total Alan made 132 appearances for the Sky Blues scoring 34 times before leaving (initially on loan) in 1977 to build a career in the newly burgeoning football scene in the USA with the likes of Washington Diplomats, Jacksonville Teamen;  San Jose Earthquakes and Team America and (becoming a US citizen) was even capped once for the States in 1984 whilst appearing with perhaps the most famous US team, the New York Cosmos, where he finished his career.

Long standing Association Member Alan returned to the UK several years ago on hanging up his boots and currently works within the social work profession in the West Midlands. Welcome Alan!

Look out for Alan around the corporate area, on the pitch at half time and in the G-Casino sfter the game. We also hope to see many other Former Players present at the game including Claus Jorgensen, Ron Farmer, Lol Harvey, Brian Nicholas, Peter Wyer, Micky Gynn, John Williams, Dave Bennett, Peter Hormantschuck, Bob Wesson, Kirk Stephens, Ken Satchwell, Ian Goodwin, Bill Tedds, Gordon Simms, Paul Dyson, Cyrille Regis and Paul Culpin so look out for them around and about the Legends Lounge!
