Sky Blue Jimmy Whitehouse R.I.P.

We had previously reported the sad news that former Sky Blue 1960s inside forward Jimmy Whitehouse had passed away peacefully at home last month (3rd May 2022) aged 87. Jimmy was an early member of Jimmy Hill’s ‘Sky Blue Revolution’ and netted nineteen goals in his 558 Sky Blue games between arriving from Reading in May 1962 and being transferred to Millwall in March 1964*.

We are now able to pass on Jimmy’s feneral arrangements for any member of the Sky Blue family who wishes to pay their respects personally or via a donation in his memory. We repeat the following funeral notice for your information:-

WHITEHOUSE, James (Jim) Aged 87. Passed away peacefully at home on 3rd May 2022 and is now re-united with his late Wife Olive.

A much loved Dad, Father in Law and Grandad to Sharon, Colin and Lucy he will be missed hugely by all his Family and Friends.

The funeral will be held at Reading Crematorium in Caversham on Thursday 30th June at 1pm. Family flowers only please should you wish a donation can be made to South Central Ambulance Service via www.justgiving.com/scas or by sending a cheque to Co-op Funeral Care, 104 School Road, Tilehurst, Reading, RG31 5AX“.

Jimmy will be greatly missed particularly by older members of the Sky Blue family.
