Members News: ‘Killer’ At Christ The King Cov Tomorrow In Sell Out
Just to remind you that a titan of the ‘Boys of 87’, who has earned cult status in Cov, will be coming back to the city again tomorrow to help mark the
35th anniversary of one of the greatest moment in Coventry City’s history. Everyone in the Sky Blue family remembers the 1987
F.A.Cup Final Wembley win over
Tottenham Hotspur and our former centre half and captain will be centre stage in an ‘Evening with
Brian Kilcline‘.
The special ‘one-off’ event will take place at Christ the King Club in Coventry (Westhill Road, Coundon, CV6 2AA) tomorrow (Friday 24th June 2022) at the popular Coventry venue with emcee Adam Bridge (of TalkSport).
Brian ‘Killer’ Kilcline & John’s son Neil at the Cathedral
Brian, who was back in the City quite recently to attend the memorial celebration for his ‘gaffer’ in 1986-87 John Sillett (where he spoke in front of the assemblage at Coventry Cathedral) will enjoy his evening with the fans.
The rugged and mountainous defender, amazingly recently having celebrated his 60th birthday, will be talking about his greatest moments in a Coventry City shirt. ‘Killer’ joined the Sky Blues back in June 1984 from Notts County for a bargain £68k and went on to make 179 appearances (netting 28 times) over seven years with the Sky Blues.
‘Killer’ in the Sky Blue
Brian also played for Newcastle United, Oldham Athletic, Swindon Town, Mansfield Town and Halifax Town during a distinguished career that ended in 1998 and has retired into international property management, maintains a slightly eccentric image and splits his time between the UK and Portugal.
He will be up for discussing all things football related including, obviously, that famous afternoon in Wembley 35 years ago when as City’s captain he hobbled up the Wembley flight of 39 steps to receive the F.A.Cup and hold it aloft to the acclaim of the ecstatic Sky Blue Army!

‘Killer’ follows a long line of sporting celebrities who have appeared in a string of excellent events put on by Christ the King Club (including fellow CCFPA member Dion Dublin) as well as other footballers Robbie Fowler and Paul McGrath and boxer Barry McGuigan)
Tickets for the event (which include refreshments) cost £
20 and were available online at
