Claus Jorgensen action2The Association would like to wish its former committee member Claus Bech Jorgensen Happy 40th Birthday!!

Claus, born in Holstebro, Denmark in 27 April 1976, and a Faroes Island international, who turned the big four zero on Wednesday, is hoping to be at the Sky Blues last home game of the season today when fellow Sky Blue favourite of a different era (and CCFPA member) Ian Wallace will be the matchday guest.  Both will be hoping to see the Sky Blues sign of their home programme with a 3rd straight victory over play off contenders Sheffield United. A 4-0 scoreline would be good!  We hope therefore Claus will find much to celebrate in his birthday week and look forward to seeing him back as a Ricoh regular next season.

Of course, Claus is part of club history having scored the first ever Ricoh goal after 10 minutes when the Sky Blues defeated QPR at its new ground in August 2005. The other scorer (Dele Adebola) and the Sky Blues gaffer Micky Adams at the time are now fellow CCFPA members.

Claus will be remembered as a combative forward who came from Bradford City in August 2003. An international for the Faroe Islands, Claus clocked up over 60 appearances for the Sky Blues scoring six times. He moved to Blackpool in 2006 and thence to Port Vale. Since hanging up his boots Claus has been developing his media and business careers and is proprietor of a local company Unique Floorcare Ltd (one of CCFPA’s Corporate members). Last season he was also asked back to work for CCFC’s Academy as a part-time coach especially for the U 14s.

Look out for Ian later today initially in the Family Zone from 1.30pm, then around the Ricoh lounges before the game and in Lady Gs with CCFPA’s Billy Bell to send the home season off in the best of humour! ‘Wally’ will also be on the BBC CWR airways commenting on the game as it unfolds. Don’t forget too that the new JH Memorial Garden will be opened and consecrated in a brief ceremony by the Bishop of Coventry at 1pm before the Sheffield United game. So plenty of reasons to be there to help the Ricoh rock on the last home game of 2015-16!
