Trevor Lewis RIP (06/01/1921 – 12/04/2015): Funeral To Take Place On May Day
The Association is very sorry to report the passing of a former Bantam and CCFPA member who, until his death, was our second oldest living player and member. Trevor Lewis died on Sunday last aged 94. This sad news follows hard on the death of fellow countryman Ken Jones who died at the end of last month aged 88.
Welsh-born Trevor was at CCFC for five years between 1948 and 1953. Discovered at Catherine-de-Barnes FC he signed for Redditch Town in January 1948 but was snapped up by the Bantams the following month making his Division Two debut at Sheffield Wednesday in a 1-1 draw on 10th April 1948. Although he was mainly a reserve team player he did make 11 first team appearances on the right wing. He later moved to Gillingham (12/1953), and later to Kidderminster Harriers, Banbury Spencer (1955) and Rugby Town (07/1956).
Trevor made every effort to support the Association’s major reunions and though too ill to attend our Legends Day 2015 last month attended previous ones in spite of his advanced years, the last in 2013. He is also pictured being presented with his official tie by CCFPA’s Bob Eales in 2008
Trevor’s funeral is to be held at 11.15 on 1 May 2015 at Canley Crematorium, Cannon Hill Road Coventry CV4 7DF

The Association sends its sincere condolences to Trevor’s family and friends and will be represented at the funeral by Bob and several other CCFPA members will no doubt be present. A full appreciation of Trevor’s footballing career by CCFPA chair Jim Brown will appear on this site in due course.
